In the many yahoo groups I am a member of I have seen it discussed about which end of the loom should be started at. While each loom pattern should state which end this doesn’t help the loomer that wants to use a needle knitting pattern on the loom. For that reason I have re-oriented my diagrams so that they work from right to left as the needle knitting patterns do. I believe if we get in the habit of working this way it will help us in the future with the thought that if it can be done on needles it can be done on a loom with a little thinking.

Excited!!!

I’m so excited I don’t know which thing to do first!!!!! A partial list is 2-way adjustable, sock loom, compact modular the list is long, oh and one of his changeable tip picks. I have so many projects and samples in my head that I want to do. He really addressed my lymphedema (LE) and other issues. I have to have another echo on the 27th May to see how it compares to the one I had last year. I will also have to have a non-activity stress test as soon as I’m able to. I’m not to eat any grains and starches just get my carbs from meat and veggies, eat high protein to help get the LE fluid out, lean red meats because I’m chronic with anemia, cut back on sodium to 2000mg/day, keep my fluid intake below a half gallon a day, oh yeah eat minimum of 3 egg whites a day and half a cup of garbanzo beans. See if I can get a ‘pump’ for my legs. I’m not allowed to do any walking for exercise right now. The only exercises he wants me to do is leg lifts while laying in bed. He didn’t say anything about the heart enlargement which is why I thought I was going. I will probably find out more about that at the next appointment. I guess it turned out well he didn’t say I was dead. I have worked on fixing one of my loom diagrams that I wasn’t pleased with. My family always taught us that it doesn’t matter the final results as long as you know you did the best you could on whatever project, school assignment and so on. I didn’t feel that way on that diagram but now I do. I’m in the process of trying to learn a different computer graphics program. You shouldn’t let a day go by without learning something no matter how little it is. I have three items on my KISS looms right now, one that is a gift on Kiss board, on Kiss rake I have a dog sweater/dress I’m designing, and on a Kiss in the round I’m designing a doll pattern that I can use to make for charities. All in all not a bad day, as long as the DSL stays connected. <?xml:namespace prefix = o />

PDFs

I have just put up a couple of PDFs that I have made. What can I say but wow!!! Right now I am going through a learning curve. If you don't want to take time to perfect your craft you should stick with KKLooms. If you are willing to give yourself some practice time and enjoy having the ability knit items from a lacy size 1 yarn to a extra bulky size 6 yarn these looms are for you. Be aware there are no little "hats" on top of the pegs or pins so the loops slip off easy, sometimes when you don't want them too. So that is one of the things you learn to adjust your knitting style too. Cliff obviously takes pride in his workmanship on these looms. As Gene and I talked about Cliff probably is not even making minimum wage when crafting these looms. Gene and I have both worked with wood and other materials and know that the amount of time a project like these looms take is tramendous. That isn't even counting the design part of it.

About being published in a the tatting Guild Booklet, I decided to do it. It will be a while before it happens but why not. I have done up a few crochet patterns, given time maybe I will come up with some loom knitting patterns. How wild would that be?!?!

To Be Published or Not.....

What a day I have had. I won't receive money for it; I would get a copy of the booklet, digital or paper, and the honor of being published.

I still am undecided. We had a nice Easter, spent the day at mom's with Deb, Frank, Gene and Mike,. Seemed strange that Maggie wasn't there, she called so that was nice. She promised me an extra big hug when I see her tomorrow. Mom was really tired today, she has some A-fib during the night, plus she over did yesterday.

As you can see I haven’t worked on my blog in ages. I’m going to try and get better at that and hopefully put up some of my completed projects, maybe even some patterns or basic instructions on some of my hobbies. I really need a site that I can store my PDFs on and link to. If you know of a reliable free one let me know please.

We now have a Crafters' Circle on Tuesdays at mom's. Aunt Judy proceeded to get me hooked on loom knitting. I have made a bunch of things, dog sweaters, stole, Easter eggs etc. Right now I have a moebius started on KK long board (blue) I'm doing this in a zig-zag wrap. A shrug that I'm not sure if I like on the KK hat loom (purple) in z-wrap mock crochet. A panel on a KK short board (salmon) in honey comb, this will be used in a group afghan for Relay For Life. Last but not least I'm trying to make a stuffed GreenFuzzer!!! I have to work on the honey comb so the group can get the panels assembled, for some reason I’m finding the pink not to my liking so it is taking me longer. As soon as I have it done I will go back to working on my moebius. Ok so I might take breaks from the honey comb and work a few rows on the moebius just to keep my sanity, or what little I have.

How I came to be.

I told you I would tell you how I came to be, how I was visualized, invented if you were. First I should let you know that though I would like to pretend, at times, that I am little, green and fuzzy I’m not I am really the visualizer of the Green Fuzzer, my name is Tammy. I will be the one talking to you on this blog. I bet you hadn’t figured that out you really thought it was a little green fuzzy thing typing this didn’t you, now tell the truth, you did didn’t you. LOL

My Green Fuzzer has been part of me life for as long as I can remember, strangely however he didn’t gain physical identity until after I had kids of my own. When I was young and Dad was fixing a tractor, lawn mower or some other piece of equipment and things just weren’t going right he would always say it was the little green guy’s fault. When I was older I found out Dad actually referred to him/her/it as the Green F#@%er. He would say this when he was sure he had the machine ‘fixed’ and it still would not start or run right. Naturally he would be growling about then. Depending on his mood mom could usually get a smile out of him if only in his eyes. She would come out and ask what he thought the problem was, I won’t use his wording but it was basically that he didn’t know he had fixed everything he thought was wrong. My memory is that this happened on more then one occasion; mom asked him if he had kicked the tire yet and he would give her one of those looks that said ‘yeah right like kicking the tire would really help’. Yes you guessed it, Mom would kick the tire and Dad would ‘show her’ sure enough whatever was not working started to work.

After we had kids Dad and Gene, my DH, would naturally have to work on a piece of equipment at some point or another and more than likely the Green ‘Guy’ would be mentioned by one of them. At some point my little ones had over heard them talking and asked who the Green ‘F#@%er’ was. They were told they had heard wrong that it wasn’t what they had repeated it was Green Fuzzer. Before they could blame the Green Guy any more during that fix it job I grabbed a piece of green paper made a circle tried to fringe the edge and make it look fuzzy, I put big eyes, devils horns-tail-pitchfork, fallen halo and big feet. I put double stick tape to the bottom of the feet and just happened to go out to see how the guys were making out. Obviously they weren’t paying attention to what I was up to which made it easy for me to stick the paper Green Fuzzer on their project a little while later when they found it they had a good laugh, it broke the stress of a job that wasn’t co-operating and my kids finally knew what the Green Fuzzer looked like. He has evolved and is no longer made of paper; see it’s a silly memory of my youth that I decided to make my logo.

Welcome...

....to the home of the Little Green Fuzzer. Over time I will be telling you all about myself and how I came to exist. Right now I want to tell you a little about my home. I live with my visualizer, Tammy, who is madly in love with her husband, Gene. Since she so enjoys flirting with him she likes to make me flirt by winking and throwing kisses. The two teenagers that live here are loved very much, yes even by me though I know they want to blame everything on “The Little Green Fuzzer”. The younger of the two is a girl, Maggie, whose beauty is like nothing ever to be seen again. I’m not speaking of her blue eyes and freckle, and smile that would melt the North Pole, no though she has all of that I’m talking of her love of family, friends and animals, her gifted artistic ability in all she touches, her sweetness (that lately seems to mainly appear when she is sleeping), she has a mouth that can take the strongest man and turn him into a crying baby if he makes her mad. She is all things beautiful and right; with some devil thrown in to keep things lively. What can I say about her older brother, Mike, when many have thought them twins, as he too is so beautiful? The eyes, the freckles, the smile is what they see to make them think twins, but I live with them I know the truth for as much as they are alike they are different. He is gifted in science, math and geography and will be a meteorologist one day, though he would prefer to be a pro baseball player first. He has a gift of finding 4-leafed clovers, he has been known to brush back the snow in the winter and find one. He too has the ability to stand tall for what he believes, God help anyone that should upset his sister. The first time he saw her he named her Sweetie, and even though they do the normal bickering their first moment together has seemed to set the way things would be for them. They won’t admit it now but to everyone else you can see they are best friends.

That’s a little about the humans that live at my house, even though I’m the cutest because I’m green and cuddliest because I’m fuzzy and I get blamed for most of the mischief you will be hearing more about everyone else in the house than you do about me.
